*Scroll Down to see other examples of oval plaques The animals are cut from thin wood first. The animal's image is than handpainted . Than it is adhered to a wood plaque base and several coats of poly are applied for a luster finish. The detail brings wonderful life and dimension to the piece as oppose to a photo that is “flat”. Sometimes I intentionally have the wood cut out of the animal “come off” the edges of the plaque to give more interest. This technique is my signature style that you will find in my wood pins as well as other products I do. I have not seen this duplicated anywhere. See "How it is Made". |
