Step 1:    I use a scroll saw to cut the piece out of wood, than base paint and sand. 
Can you imagine the skill it takes to do the pins?  I still have all my fingers!

Step 2:    The pattern is made from your photos and the outline is transfered onto the wood piece.

Step 3:    Colors are base painted in.

Step 4:    Much care is taken with the eyes, colorations, shadowing
and hair detailing to be called complete.

Step 5:    The piece that your animals will go onto also takes several steps to complete.
Sanding, staining, ployurethane layers (steel wool in between coats).
